- After a second night in jail, John announces that he wants to divorce Marlena, who then angrily races to the DiMera Mansion, slaps Stefano, and vows that the truth will come out and that her husband will be vindicated.
- Daniel and Jack argue about Jennifer, who admits that she still loves Jack.
- Abe and Elvis conduct an impromptu television mayoral debate in the Horton Town Square, where Abe announces his intention to lead the effort to raise John's bail, set him free, and prove his innocence.
- Carrie negotiates a home-confinement release for John's protection and then shares a quiet romantic night with Austin in their hotel suite.
- Nate Berkus agrees to design Mad World's new office digs, just off the Horton Town Square.
- While investigating Alice's mysterious bank statements, Bo and Hope receive a cease-and-desist order, which is immediately overturned after the Bradys visit Alice's attorney, who provides the couple with more private papers, which include a partially-written, never-sent letter to Maggie, revealing that embryos harvested in the 1970s led to the birth of a child.
SalemDay 30 began on Tuesday October 18.
- At an early morning meeting with old friend and new boss, Samanther battles unruly children, brainstorms with Madison, and is given the plum assignment to launch a new anti-aging face cream.
- After consulting with John and Marlena on details of his case, Carrie jets off to interview an orderly in the Swiss Rehabilitation Facility where John claims to have been when photos of him in a French cafe were taken, confusing her husband.
- Maggie finds paperwork regarding the embryo facility, learns that the facility likely never existed, and encourages Bo and Hope to continue their investigation.
- Melanie counsels Abigail to not remain angry at her returned father, despite the fact that Jack's return will likely mean an end to her own father's romance with Jennifer.
